Greek myths are psychological profiles of human characteristics. It could be said that Jung has made Tarot more popular, or that Tarot has made Jung more popular. In any event they need to be more accessible to each of us rather than mystified in terms that are confusing.
We all have dualities within. The Fool starts us on a journey of discovery whereby we can explore aspects of our personalities which gives us our opposites.
They represent our own innate forces, our ambivalences our multi sided personalities. The archetypes are the essential building blocks of our invisible life in effect they are the reality behind the reality, and make up the major dynamical components of the unconscious. The Major Arcana deal with the spiritual causes of physical events. We perceive these actions through our imagination. The cards mirror and reflect back to us our psyche.
The way we perceive these causes is through the imagination and the cards act as a mirror of the psyche. Learning the therapeutic uses of the cards involves a process of self reflection.
